PONDER THESE THINGS 1. Children do not walk across hoods or up by the red lights, they walk on the ground around the bus. Adjust your mirrors to see the children, not yourself or the red lights. 2. None of the mirrors on a school bus will help if you do not know what to look for or if they are out of adjustment to see within your blind area. Find the blind area and adjust to see it. 3. All mirrors can distort distances and proportions. If you see something in the mirrors, no matter how small, and it should not be there, look again, or get out of the bus and check. So you lose 30 seconds by getting out of the bus and looking. How long will you remember that student that you should have seen???? 4. IF YOU DON'T LOAD AND UNLOAD STUDENTS CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME, WHEN WILL YOU HAVE THE TIME TO DO IT OVER. BE LATE....NOT SORRY!

WORTH CONSIDERING
Because of modern technology, we have the obligation to improve upon the fine safety record of out predecessors. Because, unlike school buses, students haven't changed at all; they are just as fragile today as they were decades ago. |
