Dear Parents, Students, Fans, & Community,
I would like to welcome you to Cheraw High School Athletics, where one
of the most competitive sports programs exists in the state of South
Carolina. For the past 7 years, our athletic program at Cheraw High School
has won State Championships in the sports of Baseball (1999 & 2004), Golf
(2002),Wrestling (2003) & Football (2006). The athletic program has also
won Lower State Championships in Baseball (1997 &2002), Golf (2004), Boy’s
Track (2004), & Football (2003, 2004, & 2005), and Lower State Runner-up’s
in Baseball (2003), and Boy’s Basketball (2005 & 2006). This span also
includes 18 individual State Champions in Golf, Wrestling, Girl’s Track, &
Boy’s Track. These sports along with others at Cheraw High School have
accumulated 29 region championships over this 7 year period, and recently
won the WPDE TV-15 Zone Cup (2005) which goes to the best overall athletic
program in the TV-15 viewing area based on points for finishing order in
each sport.
The success of our athletic program over the years
is attributed to the support of our administration, faculty and staff,
parents, athletes, coaches, community, and athletic booster club. All these
members have worked together over the recent years for one goal of being one
of the best athletic departments in the state. We are truly fortunate to
have this support in our program, and I would like to personally thank
everyone for their support throughout the years.
I hope you will get an opportunity to come out and
watch the “BRAVES” compete in the Fall, Winter, and Spring Sports this
year. I know you will enjoy the action on the sports fields, and the
character and integrity in which our athletes and coaches display while
