School Policies

Attendance

Regular, punctual attendance is extremely vital to the education of all students.  Students must be in homeroom at 8:00 a.m..  Any student who arrives at school after 8:00 a.m. must report to the office with parent, or adult who brought them to school, to sign in.  Tardy students will not be admitted to class without a tardy slip from the office.  Parents of students who are tardy more than 2 times in a nine weeks period or who miss more than 3 days in a nine weeks period will be requested to meet with the principal.  South Carolina Attendance Law states that a student must be in attendance 170 days of the school year to receive credit.

Arrival

Classes will begin at 8:00 a.m.  For those students who walk or ride with parents, we ask that they arrive at school no earlier than 7:35 a.m. Adult supervision will begin at that time.  Buses will unload at 7:35 a.m.  All students should report to their homerooms upon arrival.

Dismissal

Students will be dismissed at 2:40p.m.  Buses will load immediately at the front of the school.  All walking and riding students will be dismissed after bus students.  They should wait in the appropriate line to also be picked up in the front of the school.

Visitors

For the safety of the children, all visitors, including parents, must sign in and receive a sticker at the main office.

Dress Code

While it is not our intention to overrule parental judgment in the attire of students, we do feel that certain minimal regulations are in the best interest of the educational program.  The Chesterfield County School District dress code for students will be enforced.  Students are encouraged to dress comfortably, healthy, and cleanly at all times
