Haylee Melton Recognized by USC
Haylee Melton, daughter of Reggie and
Beth Melton, graduated from the University of
South Caro lina
Master Scholar’s Program on Friday, December 5,
2008. Haylee attended USC Master Scholar Camp
for three summer sessions to achieve this honor.
She attended the summer institutes and studied;
Medicine- Anatomy, Forensic Science and
Pharmacy. Haylee plans to pursue a degree in the
medical field when she graduates from high
school. Haylee is a junior at McBee High School
this year. Pictured with Haylee is the President
of USC, Dr. Harris Pastides.
Student Council Sponsors Blood Drive
On Tuesday, September 16th you will have an
opportunity to save a life by donating blood.
Donors 16 and older are welcome but must bring
photo id. 16 year old donors must also bring a
signed, parental permission slip. Donors
will be eligible to enter a drawing with the
American Red Cross for one of three $1000 gas
cards for donating. Contact

Grade Parents Required Meeting
Do you have an eighth grader at MHS this
year? If so, you need to setup an
appointment with Mrs. Terri Rhoad to discuss
career clusters and individual
graduation plans (IGP). This meeting is
required by law. The sooner you meet to
discuss your child's interests, the sooner your
child will gain access to other resources such
as shadowing opportunities. Start shaping
your child's career today - contact

2008-09 Reading Goal
MHS has set a goal for every student to read
the equivalent of twelve 100 page books during
this school year. It is no secret that
reading is essential to ensuring academic
performance. Have your student stop by the
Media Center today to browse our library of
books.
Now Accepting Yearbook
Deposits
For the first time ever the 2008-09 Panther
Yearbook will be published in full color.
This new feature will paint a picture of MHS for
generations to enjoy for years to come.
The yearbook cost has increased to $50.00 to
cover the expense of the full color print.
Please drop $10.00 deposits off to Mrs. Dorn to
reserve your copy. No extras will be
ordered this year.
Booster Game Passes
Miss Booster
contestants are selling Game Passes that will
allow the holder admission-free entrance to all
home games for all sports for the 2008-09
calendar year. A must have for family with
students in sports. The Game Passes are
$75.00 and proceeds benefits the Sports Booster
Club. Passes are on sale until September
24th so buy yours today!
Miss Booster Contest
Miss Booster contestants are now accepting
donations for the Sports Booster club. You
may make donations directly to the contestants
or deposit money in one of the many collection
containers located at the various businesses
around McBee. Support your Sports Booster
Club by supporting your favorite Miss Booster
contestant.
Saturday Academy
MHS is dedicated to ensuring that each
student has access to the necessary resources
