Media Center Rules

  1. Media Center is open from 7:45 - 3:30, except for lunch, when the Media Center will be closed from 11:30 - 12:00.

  2. Students are expected to work quietly in the Media Center and to put magazines and books back in place when finished.

  3. Students may check out books for two weeks. A late fee of 10 cents a day will be charged for each day a book is late.

  4. If a student loses a book, he or she will be charged the cost of the book. If a book is damaged beyond use, he or she will be charged the cost of the book since it will have to be replaced.

  5. Students with outstanding overdues and fines will not be allowed to continue checking out books until payments are made or books returned.

  6. Students with outstanding overdues and fines from last year and before will not be allowed to use the Media Center computers until the fines are paid.

  7. Teachers may send up to three students at a time to the Media Center with a note explaining the purpose of the visit.

  8. Teachers may sign up with the Media Specialist to visit the Media Center to do research or to check out books. Please see the Media Specialist to make reservations.

  9. Students may use the computers before school, during breaks, and during lunch. School work takes priority over Internet browsing. One computer stays open for AR testing during all breaks.

  10. Students are encouraged to come in and read the variety of periodicals the Media Center offers. Please be a good guest and put all periodicals back on the shelf in their proper places.

  11. Students are not allowed to cut through the Media Center as a short-cut to the office or to the Junior High wing. Help us take care of our new Media Center by going around unless you need to use the Media Center.
