~~Warrior Teams~~

    At Long, we honor the traditional values of taking a stand for what is right, gaining strength by joining forces, and learning through both cooperation and competition.  All students who attend Long Middle School are considered Warriors.  In addition, each student is assigned to a team which continues the warrior theme.  Sixth graders at LMS are members of Tom Toms, Tomahawks, or Mohawks.  Present seventh grade teams are the Flaming Arrows, Kayaks, and Moccasins.  Current eighth grade teams are the Braves, Chiefs and the Tribe.  Exploratory teachers have their own team called the Trailblazers.  

   Throughout the school year, these sixth, seventh, and eighth grade teams engage in healthy competition with each other and among themselves.  Each team is designated a special section in the gym bleachers.  Both athletic and academic contests between and among teams help to make learning at Long more fun and rewarding!
