5th Grade Teacher

Biography:  I am Lisa Zahler.  I have lived in Chesterfield for 20 years, but I grew up in Monroe, Georgia and Greenville, SC.  I have an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop University and a master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina.  I will begin working to become National Board Certified during the 2008-2009 school year.

This is my 24th year of teaching.  I have taught in Lancaster, Horry, and Chesterfield counties.  I have taught fourth through eight grade, but i have spent most of my time teaching fifth grade - first at Chesterfield Middle School and now at Edwards.

I have two awesome children.  My son is Grant.  He will be graduating from Chesterfield High School this year and he hopes to attend Horry-Georgetown Tech. and major in criminal justice.

My daughter is Megan and she is finishing 7th grade this year at Chesterfield-Ruby Middle School.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, gardening, exercising, and watching movies.
