Karin Taylor

Title 1 Reading Teacher

Biography:  I am Karin Taylor. I graduated from L’Anse Creuse High School in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. I maintain certification in the areas of Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. In November of 2004 I became a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Early Childhood Generalist.  This is my seventeenth year as an educator.

I moved to South Carolina in 1992 and began teaching at Ridgeland Elementary School in Jasper County. While there, I taught one year in 4th Grade and three years in 2nd Grade.

After moving to Chesterfield in 1996, I taught 7th and 8th Grade Reading at Chesterfield Middle School for one year. I then moved to Edwards Elementary School where I have taught one year in 4th grade, four years in 1st grade, and this is my seventh year as a Title 1 Reading Teacher.

I am married (Mr. Larry Taylor teaches science at Chesterfield High), have two grown step-children, and two dogs who like to travel and camp with us.
