GOOD NEWS FOR CHESTERFIELD HIGH!!! EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT RATING
The South Carolina Department of Education released its 2006 School Report cards on November 15.  Chesterfield High received an Absolute Rating of Excellent, and Improvement Rating of Excellent, and met all 17 of its objectives under the Federal No Child Left Behind regulations, meeting its Annual Yearly Progress goals for the third consecutive year.
State school ratings range from Excellent, the highest possible rating, to a low of Unsatisfactory.  State and Federal performance requirements increase yearly, causing a statewide decline in Absolute ratings of Excellent, Good, and Average from 74 percent to 65 percent of the state's public schools.  The students and staff of Chesterfield High bucked this trend to continue to earn Excellent ratings.
