RAMS IN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Chesterfield defeated Bamberg 43-7
to advance to there 3rd straight trip to Orangeburg for the Division
1A state title. They will face a familiar foe in Carvers Bay.
The two teams have met the last 2 years with each claiming a title.
The Rams amassed over 400 yards of offense and raced to a 21-0 lead
and never looked back on claiming their 3rd straight Upper State
Title.
They will play at 12:00 Friday on the campus of SC State at Oliver
Dawson Stadium. Tickets will be on sale at the school Monday and
Tuesday from 7:30-4:00 and Thursday night at the Pep Rally at Piggly
Wiggly from 6:30-end of rally. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at
the door.

Rams Roll Over Buford 41-7

Chesterfield raced to a 34-0 halftime lead and never looked back in
the convincing win. Akeem Johnson had another big night, passing for
over 300 yards. Sergio Johnson, Jonathan Murvin and Dantrell Lewis
continued to have big nights on offense as well.
The Rams will play host to Ninety-Six this Friday at 7:30.
Pep Rally at the Pig at 7:00 on Thursday.

FOOTBALL NEWS - Rams 47
McBee 6
Chesterfield concluded their season with a convincing win over the
Panthers to finish 9-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in region play.
Akeem Johnson threw for 6 touchdowns and ran for a score. Johnson
topped the 400 yard mark in passing. Dontell Lewis had 222 yards on
only 3 catches. The Rams begin the playoffs at home on Friday
against Buford at 7:30.

FOOTBALL NEWS -
Rams 41-0 Over Knights
Chesterfield (8-1, 5-0) rolled to a 41-0 win over North Central
(1-8, 0-5) on Friday to capture their first Region championship in
school history. Playing in a windy wet conditions, the Rams recorded
their 4th region shutout of the season. They will play McBee at home
on Friday at 7:30. Don't forget the Centennial Celebration
immediately following the game!
JV finished the season with a 7-2 overall record (6-0 in region).
The JV Football team has won 16 consecutive region games finishing
unbeaten in the region play for 3 years in a row! |

FOOTBALL NEWS - Rams over
Red Devils 36-13
Chesterfield (7-1, 4-0) defeated Great Falls 36-13 to move into sole
possession of first place in Region 3A. The Rams leading 15-13 at
the half used 3 second half touchdowns and defensively shut down the
potent Red Devil attack to secure the win. The Rams will play at
North Central on Friday at 7:30.

10/10 FOOTBALL NEWS - Rams 34 Lions 0
Chesterfield (6-1, 3-0) recorded the teams 4th shutout of the season
by defeating Lewisville (4-3, 2-1) on Friday. The Rams locked in a
0-0 game scored 3 touchdowns in the last 6 minutes of the 2nd
quarter to go 21-0 at the half. The Rams added 2 scores in second
half to win 34-0. Derrick McQueen ran for 250 yards to lead the
Rams. |

10/3 FOOTBALL NEWS - Rams record 3rd Shutout
The Rams defeated Indian Land 53-0 on Friday to improve to 5-1
overall and 2-0 in region play. They will play at Lewisville on
Friday at 7:30. Chesterfield jump to an early 20-0 first quarter
lead and increased it to 34-0 at the half. Playing everyone on the
sidelines they continued to score often and easily won 53-0.

9/26 FOOTBALL NEWS - Eagles Nip Rams 21-20
in a Thriller
What was anticipated as a classic match up between county rivals,
lived up to expectations. Chesterfield scored a 4th quarter
touchdown, then converted the 2 pt conversion to tie the Eagles at
14-14 and send the game into OT. The Rams lost the coin toss and was
forced to go on offense first. Akeem Johnson hit Sergio Johnson on a
spot pass and Johnson avoided an Eagle defender to score on the Rams
first play. Chesterfield elected to go for the 2pt conversion and
the pass was incomplete. Central took possession and after a 3 yard
gain, scored on their 2nd play and then converted the extra point
for the win. The Rams (4-1, 1-0) will play at Indian Land on Friday
at 7:30.

9/19 FOOTBALL NEWS - RAMS MOVE TO 4-0 WITH
39-0 WIN OVER BUFORD
The Rams defeated the Yellow Jackets during Homecoming 39-0 to improve
to 4-0. This was the region opener for each team. Chesterfield moves
out of the region next Friday night for a non conference game with
county rival Central. The Eagles are 4-0 as well and will set the
first meeting between the 2 teams in which both are undefeated since
1985 when they were 6-0 each. |

9/12 - FOOTBALL NEWS -
Rams win
21-17 over Rival Cheraw
For the second year in a row, Chesterfield's game with Cheraw went
down to the wire. Each time, the Rams were victorious. Akeem Johnson
hit Dantrell Lewis with a 14 yard touchdown pass with 1:45 on the
clock to put the Rams 3-0 on the year. They play Buford at home this
week for Homecoming. Tickets will go on sale Thursday at the High
School.

9/5 - Rams 32 Lakewood 14
Rams improve
to 2-0 on the year as they defeated Lakewood on Thursday
night. Again the Rams racked up over 400 yards offense
with Derrick McQueen totaling 188 on the ground. The top
ranked Class A team will now prepare for arch rival
Cheraw next Friday at home. Game time is 7:30.

8/29 - Rams Blank Fort Mill
42-0!
Chesterfield opened their 2008 season with a convincing
42-0 win over the Yellow Jackets. The Rams held Fort
Mill to 56 total yards of offense while totaling 450
yards. After opening up a 23-0 halftime lead, they added
3 scores in the second half for the final outcome.
