Chesterfield High School is a 4 year public school with approximately 525 students in grades 9-12 offering college prep and career and technology education programs. The school is a member of the SC High Schools That Work (HTSW) network. The school is on a traditional 7 period day schedule allowing students to earn a total of seven units per year. Chesterfield High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and by the South Carolina State Department of Education.

| To earn a South Carolina high school diploma a student must pass a South Carolina high school exit exam, which includes English/Language Arts and Math and earn the following 24 units: | |||

| Government | .5 unit | Economics | .5 unit |
| Other Social Studies | 1 unit | Physical Education | 1 unit |

| *For College Prep students, one unit must be in a foreign language. for Tech Prep students, one must be in a Career and Technology Education cluster. Students are encouraged to complete a career cluster. | |||
