Students from Mrs. Hitesman's second
grade class worked in small groups to create miniature environments that
they presented to their classmates on Friday, September 19, 2008. Prior
to the project, they learned about each environment in class, which is a
South Carolina State Standard for Science in second grade. They used
some materials from the outdoors, figurines that were purchased, and
craft materials in the classroom to create their dioramas. Each
environment displayed their own physical characteristics including plant
life, animal life, etc. The students had to make sure their environment
included the necessities for their animals survival. All of the
environments had to have food, shelter, water, air, and space for their
animals. Overall, Mrs. Hitesman was very impressed with their hard work
and believed their finished projects looked amazing! |
